RYA condemns the abduction by Delhi Police of educationist, engineer and environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk who has been sitting on a hunger strike since the last 21 days demanding accountability and resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over NEET paper leak. The Delhi Police also tried to enter the tent where AISA leaders Neha, Manish and Aameen were sitting on hunger strike, also for 21 days, and lathicharge them. It was only with collective resistance of the people present there who formed a human chain which prevented the Delhi Police from abducting them as well.

The BJP-government, having failed to address the question of continuous paper leaks, has now resorted to full fledged repression of those questioning it. This is the modus operandi of the BJP government to shield itself from all sorts of questions.

Despite having abducted Sonam Wangchuk, AISA leaders Neha, Manish and Ameen, along with student Hamad continue their hunger strike into its 21st day. The movement for accountability and for a just education system is continuing at Jantar Mantar.

RYA appeals all to reach Jantar Mantar, Delhi on 20th July for March to Parliament and to make the collective resistance stronger. We also appeal to the youth across the country to organise protest marches in their areas in solidarity with the ongoing movement.
